Council Information Centres
All Council Information Centres run in a partnership between the county and district councils and other bodies that deliver services from that particular location. Norfolk Connect Partnership owns the overall programme, agrees the strategic direction and monitors service delivery on a six monthly basis.

CICs provide easier access for people who may not have access to the web, are not comfortable using the phone, or more simply, want to speak with someone face to face about their enquiry. Jointly trained staff deal with simple queries for a wide range of partners, helping people access services that are available online and providing, where necessary referrals on, or sensible signposting. They also deliver specific services for principle funding partners and report progress against a core Service Level Agreement designed to reflect local need and political priorities.

The number and locations of CICs has grown over the lifetime of the NCP, as has the range of partners delivering services. Now, the Police, health and some central government departments offer services or surgeries through these customer outlets.

In addition, in places such as the West Norfolk information points, training delivered to Parish council or voluntary sector staff allows them to support similar levels of joined up customer service. NCP Partners are keen to develop this approach more widely in the county as part of future developments and at present, discussions with the libraries service and proposals envisaged in the Digital Challenge bid are intended to widen this type of access still further.
